Greetings From The Host
Welcome from Wichita. We want to welcome you to this year's Mid-South Region Horn Conference which will be held March 24th and 25th of 2006. While some of the conferences have gone to a two and one-half to three day format, we felt it important to stay with a two day format not only to keep the time commitmmit reasonable but we also felt we could keep the cost down as well. We have kept the general cost for the workshop at a very reasonable set of rates especially when you figure in the various discounts that can be applied. Also note that in the competitions, we have a special solo division for high school students as we feel this conference is as much for the young, public school student (and their teachers) as well as for the university player aspiring for a career as a player or pedagogue. There will be great recitals by Peter Kurau and Randy Gardner, our Principal Guest Artists plus wonderful performances and lectures by contributing artists such as John Ericson, and Brian Kilp. Exhibitors will include Philip Alexander from the Alexander factory in Germany and Chris Hunning from Paxman Ltd. of London who will both have large displays. Take I-135 South to the 21st Street Exit, turn Left (East)
Turn Right (South) on Hillside
Enter the campus at the main entrance, there is a large memorial on the left (East) side of the street.
Take the first left from the main drive
Turn right into the first parking lot, park on the right side of the lot. This is the lot to Duerksen Fine Arts Center.
From the South
